I can’t believe that I actually stayed up late last night to watch the eclipse, “The Lunar Eclipse Super Blood Moon”, but I think it was worth it. Of course I had my faithful fur baby, Dispatch with me but I also had an unexpected guest with me. Dwain decided that he wanted to go out with me to watch the eclipse. It’s unusual for me to stay up late but even more so for him.
Last night was very cold, so we took my truck and drove around in the pasture until we found a good spot for both of us to view the moon from the warmth of the truck. Kinda made me feel like a teenager again driving around in the woods or dark roads looking for a place to park and hang out.
We finally settled on what we thought was a good spot, but of course it didn’t take long before neither of us could really get a good view without getting out. We would get out and take pictures for a few minutes and then get back in the truck to get warm.
The time we spent in the truck I was trying to adjust my camera to get better photos, but it’s like me, old and don’t work very well anymore. So I never did get any real good photos. Thanks to my daughter, Deanna, I did manage to get some decent photos. Be sure to check out the photo gallery to view her pictures.
We also had a visitor while we were there. It’s a good thing we were all in the truck at the time. I’m fooling with my camera, not really paying attention to anything outside and Dwain yells “Coyote!”. He grabbed my gun and was taking it out of the holster when I turned on the head lights. It turned out to be a beautiful red fox. He just stood there watching for a few minutes before he took off running. It was very large but so pretty! NO, he didn’t shoot it, or even shoot at it. I can deal with a fox, but not a coyote.
