Where did the time go? It seems as only yesterday you were that mischievous little brown-eyed girl stealing the hearts of those around you. I was always taking precautions not knowing what I would find in your pockets, from rocks to frogs and at one time even thinking you had found a new pet in a large rat. It felt as though my heart jumped from my body as I looked up as you were saying, “Look Mom!, look what I found!”
I think back on the few ball games you had with me thinking she is just too small. These kids of the same age were twice your size or more. She is going to get hurt. I couldn’t stand that thought. Little did I know how wrong I was. You gave true meaning to the phrase of “dynamite comes in small packages.” You went from softball games to barrel racing horses. Spitting dirt with every fall and never gave up.
I look at you today and my heart pounds with pride. You have grown into a beautiful woman inside and out. I see the love you have for your own children and the closeness you share with your sister. You have faced your own adult troubles as we all do, and you never give up. You still have that same stubbornness and determination that you had as a child, that is what made you into the special person that I see today.
Keep following God!
Isaiah 40: 28 – 31
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Happy birthday, Stephanie!!!
